The Road to Banff
You are invited to participate in our second annual Road to Banff pitch competition for early stage startups! The Road to Banff at Canada 3.0 2012 is an opportunity to practice your pitch, receive valuable feedback on your venture and network with potential funders and business partners. If you are an ICT, Life Sciences, or Clean Tech company with revenues less than $5 million and outside funding of less than $2.5 million, then you are eligible to compete.
Prizes for the Top 10!
The top 3 companies will receive the Grand Prize of an all-expense paid trip to the Banff Venture Forum, Canada’s premier Venture Capital forum, courtesy of the Canadian Digital Media Network and Communitech. The remaining top 7 companies will receive runner-up prizes of cash and in-kind services courtesy of our sponsors.
What is Included?
When you register for Road to Banff, you and your team will receive the opportunity to pitch in front of investors, a video of your pitch and feedback, an invitation to a Founders and Funders networking event, educational workshops, and much more!
Pitch Format
Each company has a 20 minute timeslot, including a 10 min pitch and 10 min Q&A. There will be a minimum of three judges (including angel investors, VCs, professional services providers) per pitch session. The top 16 companies will make it to a final pitch off with the winners announced at the Canada 3.0 closing ceremony.
Judging
Companies will be judged on the following categories:
1. Compelling product or service with a clearly defined value proposition
2. Viable business model
3. Entrepreneurs who demonstrate an ability to execute on their plans
4. Overall presentation
