Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions supports CEIM to propel the international development of Quebec's technology startups.
The Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), the Honourable Mélanie Joly, announced during a press briefing on October 22, a $494,100 non-repayable contribution for CEIM for a new project aimed at promoting the international business development of innovative technology startups.
We are extremely grateful and would like to thank the CED team for its support and deep commitment towards CEIM.
Fostering and accelerating our startups' international growth
To reach their full market potential, our startups need to be better prepared and have easier access to international markets.
Experience has shown that a specialized, personalized coaching program that takes into account the needs of each project enables startups to better plan, structure and carry out their activities, including those related to commercialization.
Thanks to the support of Global Affairs Canada over the past three years, CEIM has demonstrated both the effectiveness and relevance of well-targeted international trade missions for the gaming industry.
The additional support that is granted by CED today will enable us to develop, as early as January next year, a new coaching program that will be solely dedicated to export. This will be followed, in the fall of 2021, by a series of trade missions to Europe, North America and Asia.
The pandemic context poses a number of new challenges for our startups. They are, however, a key success factor for Quebec and Canada's economic recovery. We are therefore very proud, with the support of the Canadian government, to be able to strengthen our actions with a view of fostering their international development.
